Q: What is chiropractic?
A: Chiropractic is the science, art and philosophy which utilizes specific adjusments, mainly to the spine, to maximize health.  Because the brain is connected to the body through the spinal cord, misalignments and fixations in the joints of the spine have adverse affects on the nerves.  These nerves control the function of everything in your body.  Therefore, restoring proper alignment and motion to the spine leads to the restoration of proper function of the body.

Q: What if my insurance doesn’t cover chiropractic, is inadequate, or I don’t have insurance?
A: Many patients today have no insurance, have insurance that does not cover chiropractic care, or have insurance which is inadequate or has such a high deductible that it will not be in our time with you.  This can be a major cause of stress when dealing with a difficult health condition.  Because of this we strive to provide affordable care to those patients paying cash.  We have convenient payment plans available for those who may need them.  Your specific circumstances will be discussed with you during your report of findings, at which time the options will be explained.

Q: Do I have to have x-rays?
A: The need for x-rays is demonstrated by the clinical findings on the health history and physical examination.  If certain indicators are found, x-rays will be necessary.  If these indicators are not found, x-rays will not be needed.  Before x-rays are taken, the need will be explained to you.  We will never leave you in the dark!

Q: How long will appointments take?
A: We recommend trying to arrive approximately 15 minutes before your scheduled first appointment.  This gives you the time you need to fill out the forms that are required to begin care.  This first visit will take anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on your specific problem.

The second visit will take 20-30 minutes. This extra time is alloted to allow for the report of findings and plan of care to be explained.
Subsequent visits should take between 5 and 15 minutes, depending on where you are on your road to health that day.  Additional time may be needed if therapeutic modalities are indicated that day.
At Main Street Chiropractic Center we respect our patients time.  We strive to see our patients on time.  On occasion, another patient may come in with a severe problem that requires further attention.  If you believe that you may need extra time on your scheduled appointment, please call us to let us know, so that proper arrangements can be made.

Q: What types of patients does Main Street Chiropractic Center see?
A: We see all types of patients, with all types of conditions!  We see newborns through centenarians.  We see patients who wish to acheive and maintain their highest possible state of health.  We see patients with conditions that are very challenging.  We welcome everyone to at least come in for a free consultation to see if their problem can be helped with chiropractic care.

Q: Why chiropractic?
A: At Main Street Chiropractic Center we believe that when dealing with a health issue, the conservative route should always be tried first.  Chiropractic is this conservative route that works great for so many conditions.  Why jump right to drugs, with alI of the possible side effects, or surgery, with the possible complications?  If, however, chiropractic does not seem to be helping, or additional benefits can be gained through the utilization of drugs or surgery, we will be happy to refer you to the appropriate specialist.

So remember, CHIROPRACTIC FIRST!
